Seigneurial residence of the noble famiy of Gallay, built around 1670 and famous to have welcomed Jean-Jacques Rousseau in July 1730.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau's visit on the 1st of July 1730 has been at the origin of "L'idylle des cerises", a very famous passage of the Confessions which marks the birth of the Romantic movement.
Besides the presentation of the places where Jean-Jacques Rousseau came, the visit makes bridges between the XVIIIth century and the actuality of its thoughts through all the movements of coming back to nature.
In two rooms, a great deal of period furniture and crocker y, from the Museum of Thônes, are commented.
A multimedia room to project documents on Savoie, with its history, its economy and its heritage.
Relaxing activities in the garden, pedagogical garden and theatral readings.
Every Tuesday morning at 10am, realisation of herbaria for children from 4 years old.
